escape

Thursday, August 30th, 2007

We’re all tired, bored, and frustrated. And as we keep on turning to others as new sources of amusement and joy in life, maybe it’s time to sit down and look each other in the face. To see if this well-travelled journey is worth continuing for, and to know that this is not just a quick escape.

cuti

Monday, August 27th, 2007

Mungkin perlu cuti 2 taon kali yah.

belief

Tuesday, August 21st, 2007

I respect your belief and your desire to save other people. But I don’t respect the way you try to convince me on your belief. The way I view the Lord, and the way I communicate with Him is a private matter and totally none of your business.

toasted

Sunday, August 5th, 2007

French_toastI had my french toast for the first time in my aunt’s house during one of our family gatherings. Back then, I just knew it as roti dadar or something, and I was hooked instantly with its buttery and sweet taste. The name was only known last week from the picture in the Kopitiam. What do you know? You study something new everywhere, eh?

A couple of months ago, I was suddenly craving for it and called my Mom to get the know-how. The first result wasn’t quite successful as it was more black than golden brown, if you know what I mean. But the next attempts were okay as it was acceptable to the wife’s palate.

Yesterday I tried to make it again the Kopitiam’s way. And after chatting with this budding chef, I found more things to be added to the toast.

The recipe I used is quite simple. 2 eggs, sliced bread, sugar, and the ever-dependable Blue Band margarine. First, you put the eggs into a bowl, and add sugar as per your liking. Then you beat the mixture well. Heat the non-stick frying pan, and put margarine there. Dip the bread into the mixture bowl, and place them in the frying pan, flip them from time to time until they have the nice golden brown texture, and they’re ready to eat. My 2 eggs are enough for 5 sliced bread, so have more eggs if you want more.

You can see the result in the picture above. It’s quite okay although I should’ve put more sugar to it. A good way to spend your Saturday morning. Now, if only I have a house elf to clean up all that mess in the kitchen.

smudge gone

Friday, August 3rd, 2007

Smudge_roar_1I’m always sad whenever a players leaves Old Trafford, especially when they already left a mark with us. Phil, Nicky, Becks, Diego, Ruud, Timmy, Keano, and now Rossi & Smudge.

I accept that no one is expected to stay Red forever, and that the club’s interest should come first. But at least, I believe that a player who wants to play for us and fights for his place is much better than his replacement who comes only for the money.

Rossi & Smudge had clearly stated that they’d like to stay and they would be useful as we’re quite thin in the striking department. Even though I don’t think Tevez will be rubbish, two heads with United crest on their hearts would be more useful when magic and fire are required in times of dire need.

While the Boss had mentioned about Smudge determination to stay and his being the inspiration for the team during the last part of our championship season, I fully expected him to keep Smudge in the team. I wish Smudge would be given one more season to prove his
worth to us.

For Eric’s sake, this is the same player who broke his ankle for us, rejected England to play in the Reserves, and the guy to whom the whole team dedicated their Carling Cup victory for!!!

Even when it’s already imminent that he’d be joining in the Allardyce revolution, I still kept a glimmer of hope and actually hoped that he’d do a Solskjaer and refused to go to Newcastle. A mere wishful thinking.

So long, Alan and thanks for everything. Your part in that magical 7-1 night would always be a moment to cherish for us.
