brat

Thursday, April 27th, 2006

I got to see my nephew’s weekly "report" book written by his teacher in the pre-school he’s currently attending, and it really put a smile on my face. It made me forget everything for a while, and was damn proud of that little devil. The report mentioned his good qualities in the classroom, and how helpful he was to the teacher.

I laughed myself off thinking that he wasn’t being helpful; being kay poh was more likely. I’m not sure if he knows that he’s making all of us proud, he’s just too busy screaming here & there, and scattering his toys everywhere.

Being a good educator, the teacher also put the balance by reporting his not-so good qualities which for us who knew him wasn’t really surprising at all. "Although, he seems not really interested in tidying up."

What a brat. A lovable one, that is.

me giggsy

Thursday, April 20th, 2006

Giggs"From a young age you’ve always been able to achieve the things you set out to do, especially on the pitch. Born with a silver ball at your feet, you constantly amaze those around you with your ability. But you’ve never just relied on your natural talent to get you through. You work hard as well, and do everything at a lightning pace."

"You’re quick thinking and always seem to be one step ahead of the game, passing any obstacles in your way with ease. You’re someone that can be relied upon and always exceed what is expected of you. Extremely loyal, you’ve earned the respect and admiration from those around you. Which is entirely what you deserve."

Giggsy? Moi? I don’t have the "lightning pace" nor killer left foot, and I’m certainly less hairy than the Welsh Wizard. But, I’ll take it anyway :D Your turn now, get it here

eat me

Thursday, April 20th, 2006

EatingtvFor the last 2 months, eating has been such a major problem for me. It’s quite ridiculous because how can someone have a problem with eating? You just pick what you like, eat it, pay, and then go, right? If only it’s that easy for me.

In my case, deciding what to eat already proves to be difficult as there’s just too many delicious meals to choose from and not enough chance & money to do it. So, my choice must be in line with my current monetary situation as I don’t want to have to wash the dishes or leave my ID card after a meal. If those two criteria are fulfilled, it all comes down to the nearest eateries which are on the same route to or near home.

Actually, I’m not that adventurous when it comes to eat. I’d rather order the same meals in one place all the time because I like it than trying new menu and end up disappointed because I don’t like the taste and then I still have to pay for it. I’d try new ones if and only if it’s highly recommended by people that I have put my trust in their taste.

Sometimes, it’s not that easy either for me whenever I’m invited to a dinner because when I don’t eat something because I don’t like or want it, people would start urging me to eat it just because they think it’s delicious. A word of wisdom for you, ladies & gents; my tongue is not your tongue, so let’s not generalize it. Anyway, it’s going inside my body, and I’m the only one who has the final word about what goes inside it.

And I still don’t know what to eat tonight…

the last straw

Wednesday, April 19th, 2006

My laptop suddenly refused to cooperate with me last Monday. I’ve done everything to make it work as usual but to no avail. Not until yesterday that I finally got the confirmation that the keyboard had gone kaput. It seems it has come to the end of its proud service to my company, but I still wait for the final word from the people here what they can do to it. So, for the last 2 days I can’t work properly resulting in several delayed reports to the clients.

RoonevronOn the Red side, United wasn’t properly functioning either at home against the officially worst team in the Premiership this season. Things just went agonizingly awry for us at the very moment a single goal was needed to keep our faint hope of stealing the title away from those damn Blues. It didn’t need rocket science to know that the title door had been slammed shut in our face as the final whistle went off last Friday.

But we won at White Hart Lane on Easter Monday to set up the title decider nicely at Stamford Bridge on April 29th. We must WIN at all cost then, other than that we’d just hand them the title which is not easy to accept; not for two years in a row after we formed a guard of honour for them at Old Trafford.

Come on lads, bring them on!!

evening rain

Thursday, April 13th, 2006

It rained heavily this afternoon, and left me stranded. Stranded wasn’t probably a suitable word. One is not stranded if he can have a free Wi-Fi access in a five-star hotel and be seated at a plush sofa.

Rain always brings out the other side of us from a place that we don’t know exist. It’s a place where dreams are conceived, memories recalled, heartbreak mended, and tears dried. We wish that we could lock its gate forever, yet sometimes we long to savour our journey there for one last time. One last memory, one last laugh.

Then it rains. A thousand raindrops pouring out of the blue sky, lending us another key to the gate. And we oblige because it always provides a comforting blanket, a familiar warmth assuring us that everything’s gonna be alright.

Let it rain, let it rain.

yes!!

Roo_arse1The long holiday was everything that I expected it to be. More time to sleep and more time to watch. But, the highlight must be our victory over Arsenal on Sunday. It got even better by celebrating it together with the guys, there’s no fun in screaming aloud alone really.

Park_arse1During the whole game, our performance was fantastic. We could clearly see the passion and determination from every player on the pitch, we fought for every ball, and we stood our ground for 90 minutes. Old Trafford was also rocking with our new record attendance since 1920.

The only sour note from this weekend was the fact that the sickening Blues managed to keep the gap to 7 points albeit playing with 10 men for 75 minutes. But it shouldn’t matter actually because I still believe that it’s gonna be very, very hard for them to drop points. All that matters is that we keep on winning till the end of the season.

After all, even if we win all games and still miss out on the title, it’s our fault for not having the similar consistency throughout the whole season.

Word_cloudThis is the result from a software that automatically gathers the most used words in one blog and then turns them into a so-called "cloud". Pretty cool, me thinks. Get yours here!

Thanks, Dew :)

fall from grace

Friday, April 7th, 2006

AigThe day started brightly with the announcement of our new shirt sponsor, AIG. It broke the current UK shirt sponsorship held by Samsung & Chelsea; at least, we managed to beat Chelsea in one particular field, hopefully other similar things will come up in the future. Fingers crossed.

I’m really looking forward to this coming weekend, not only because there’s an additional day off on Monday, but also because I desperately want to get away from everything, forget everything even for just 72 hours, and do what I want. I want to see Ice Age 2, I want to sleep all day and numb my brain with things on cable, I want to get together with the guys cheering for the lads, I want to see us beat the hell outta Arsenal, I want it all badly.

It’s been a really bad week, something that I wasn’t proud of, and I tend to have it all the time. I guess it’s part of the package of being a Gemini.

turn off your cell

Monday, April 3rd, 2006

I went back home during last long weekend armed with Stephen King’s Cell to finish it off. Boy, it was quick!

You couldn’t help but thinking about George Romero’s Dawn of The Dead while reading King’s latest offering. Yes, this is about people becoming the Undead because of some sort of pulse transmitted from your cellphone. So, if you happen to be using your phone or just overhearing it during Time Zero, there are chances that you’ll be forgetting who you are, slamming your face to the wall, or running after people with butcher knife while making awkward sounds.

Most of the time, King successfully stabbed terror right into the heart of his legion of fans, and I, for one, usually fall for him. But this time, it felt flat, weak, uninteresting, and wasn’t really scary at all. It was like he wrote it in a hurry just to meet the deadline set by his publisher or maybe he got the idea from the grocery store next door! Even the editor contracted the same virus by letting some misspelling frighten the readers here & there. I’m not sure if the other edition has the same problem, but my Hodder & Stoughton certainly does.

The book ends with a bonus chapter from King’s upcoming novel, Lisey’s Story, in King’s own handwriting. Am I going to be expecting its published date with delight?

I don’t even bother to read it.

snatch

Monday, April 3rd, 2006

Loveunitedhateglazer2Our current winning streak coupled with Chelsea’s mini slump had people talking of us snatching the title away from them. Yes, they have the point with the gap between us is now closing at only 7 points from 15 points at the beginning of this year. But I’m not so fast in judging that we’re gonna win it again this year. I just can’t see it happening.

7-point gap is still huge and Chelsea is more superior in goal difference. Though I think that we could win the title only, and only if Chelsea experiences a catastrophe of Biblical proportion and we win every single remaining game that we have.

So, it’s very unlikely, eh? But of course, I would LOVE it to be proven wrong! Let’s just keep knocking on the door coz when you knock it long enough, it’ll open for you.

Ruud_sahaThe trip to Bolton last Saturday had "banana slip" written all over it, but it’s a huge relief that we came up with 3 points. Saha once again proved that he deserved the starting spot by scoring one and assisting on the winning goal for Ruud. We couldn’t ask for a better ending.

Nemanja Vidic started to show his potential by becoming a defensive rock beside Rio who was completely nutmegged by Kevin Davies for Bolton’s goal. As time passes by, may Rio-Vidic combination get better all the time.

Bring on Arsenal!!!
