Oasis_2The brothers are coming. After 10 years of yearning, I’ll be just a 90-minute flight away from them. I think that’s the closest I’ll ever be to them in my lifetime. Am I ecstatic? I was for a couple of hours, because I was initially informed that the concert would be on Sunday. But now, after checking on the ticket website I’m devastated since the concert will be on Thursday.

It’s very highly unlikely for me and I’m so sad. Terribly and horribly sad.

Baffling. Frustrating. Disgrace. Confusing. Sad. Anxious. Angry. Devastating. Lacklustre. Unconvincing. Shapeless. Disorganized. Wasteful. Gut-wrenching. Uninterested. Disappointed. Worried. Hurt. Choked. Tragic. Numb. Disoriented. Restless. Mad. Irritating. Dejected. Shameful. Heart-breaking. Out.

in limbo

Wednesday, December 7th, 2005

I don’t like to be in limbo. I don’t like to be in a position where I don’t have the slightest idea whether my efforts so far will turn out to be fruitful or just going away with the desert sand. The pessimistic in me tells me that I’m not going to reach the designated goals, based on the result that I’ve reached so far. To be honest, I tend to only see the dark side of things more and more each day.

I’m quite disappointed with what I saw and I really don’t like it. People that I thought would be welcoming & supporting just didn’t care. I’m losing ground fast. Not to mention people who just love to unbalance things. I mean if you really know everything and are good at it, WHY DON’T YOU FUCKING COME EARLIER THEN? Don’t give me lame excuses of "not wanting to unbalance things".

Gatecrashing is extremely not allowed here. Not in MY party.

nice, cold beer

Nice_czech_beerWe said goodbye to our good Czech friend last night. His tour of duty in Indonesia has ended, and he’s already booked to be stationed in Seoul, South Korea next. Pavel invited us to a German pub called Die Stube in Kemang to finally taste the Czech beer. Having been informed by a Discovery Travel & Living program about good beer coming from the Czech Republic, I couldn’t wait to taste it. And it was worth the wait eventually.

The beer was definitely very nice. It was served cold and we drank straight from the bottle which was how beer should be drunk according to Pavel. I wasn’t someone who could drink beer bottles after bottles, so whenever I said the beer was good, you’d better believe me.

The pub was actually booked for a private party of these old Indonesian men who once studied in Germany. They were rowdy, noisy, all-singing, and all-drinking. It must be the most family-friendly bar I’ve ever been because your grandpas & grandmas were all there drinking beer! Die Stube also served traditional German meals and I ordered roasted bratwurst, while Pavel had a gigantic pork leg that would be enough for 5 adults.

The night was filled with laughters, and wild guesses about the real reasons why Keano left United, and what company would become the third shirt sponsor in United history. The candidates offered between us ranging from Budweiser, McDonald’s, and O2. One of us even dared to say that Leprechaun Glazers would change our devil in the crest with Mickey Mouse. Cheeky bugger!

We didn’t realize how time flew as the first time we met Pavel was around 3.5 years ago. He was such a true Red and a very great guy to be with. He loves United & England national team better than Czech national team! Seeing his face after a United lost would make you feeling even more depressed. We bid him farewell in front of Die Stube and wishing to see him again soon either in Seoul or in Jakarta to cheer for our lads again.

Finally, I arrived at home at 1 AM with 6 bottles of beer for my wife, father-in-law, and brother-in-law because I know they like a good beer or two. Maybe I’ll take a sip tonight to warm my body after heavy raining around Jakarta today.
